Simply type (or copy- paste from your browser's address bar) any text or links which you'd like to be tweeted into the text box on the main page. Push the "Generate Link" button, and OctoTwit.com will make the address smaller for you, and give you a new link. You can then copy this new URL wherever you'd like to use it.

To use an address generated by OctoTwit.com there is no need to visit OctoTwit.com. Simply type or paste the URL into your browser's address bar and press enter; you will be automatically forwarded to twitter and the text that you inputed will already be in the text box, ready to tweet. If somebody has given you an OctoTwit.com in the form of a hyperlink, just click on the link instead.

This is useful in many circumstances (see below) e.g. in advertising or promoting your product or services.

For example, you can turn:
"OctoTwit.com is awesome!"

into:
http://octotw.it/d183f

It couldn't be simpler!
